How Porto stands out among other European meeting and incentive destinations

The second ranked European non-capital city in attracting events according to the ICCA ranking, chosen to host the 64th ICCA Congress in 2025 and a highly sought after by foreign multinationals for setting up their companies. These are just three examples of the reasons that place Porto in a prominent position for hosting meetings and incentives.

The ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) 2023 ranking doesn’t let us lie: Porto holds the second place as a European city for attracting events, among those that are not capitals of their respective countries, up four places from the previous ranking.

Porto’s position as a meetings and business destination caught the attention of the ICCA, which chose the city to host the association’s 64th Congress in 2025. With a joint bid from the Porto and Northern Portugal Convention Bureau and Turismo de Portugal, the event will be held at the Alfândega do Porto Congress Centre from 9 to 12 November.

At the same time, Porto is an increasingly attractive destination for foreign investment, particularly from multinationals, who recognise the city’s talent, technology, innovation and thriving entrepreneurship.

Porto is currently home to many renowned companies, start-ups, universities and research centres that offer top-notch, high-tech solutions to clients from all over the world.
